About

Our History

Founded in 1961, the studio was previously named Preston Forest School of Dance. In 1976, Jackie Troup Miller took over the studio and renamed it to JTM Studio of Performing Arts. We were located in the Preston and Forest shopping center. Later, we moved to Marsh and Forest, and finally found our home at our current space in Farmers Branch.

Amy Cave started as a student under Jackie as a young girl and found her love of dance and theater. She lived in the Farmers Branch area and graduated from R. L. Turner. She then went on to get her Bachelors in Arts and Performance at UTD. She took over the studio in 2005. Amy Cave changed the name of the studio to Amy's Studio of Performing Arts and made it her own, while still keeping the same core values of the studio.

The studio has done numerous performances in the community including performing at nursing homes during the holidays to help give back. In 2015, Amy Cave created Resolute Theater Project to spread her love of theater to her students and community. Resolute has put on several shows highlighting our wonderful students while providing even more educational opportunities.
